NSA Agent Augustus Gibbons, fresh off the success of his last renegade recruitment, once again finds himself in need of an outsider. Gibbons and his new agent must track a dangerous military splinter group, led by General George Deckert, that is conspiring to overthrow the U.S. Government in the nation's capital.
I didn't expect too much from this one and in fact I saw another disappointing sequel. There were some good jokes at the beginning and also the action scenes were not so bad but some special effects I didn't like because they were mixed with much computer graphic intelligence. The story lost completely the level and I missed a certain substance and logic. For all adrenalin fans it's okay but don't expect suspense. I found Ice Cube ridiculous making some harmless stunts. I thought that's not possible what I'm watching and I think he's totally misplaced here. Perhaps the other XXX candidates were too expensive for the responsibilities. Final verdict: 5/10. Sorry, but definitively not for my DVD-best-of-collection.
During the reception scene there was a group of musicians playing. Perhaps mostly female with a couple of violins. Anyone know the name of the group or were they put together just for the movie? My wife and I enjoyed the plot even though it was pretty generic. A lot of the story was predictable. The idea that anyone could approach the capitol with vehicle roaring away with the other vehicles badly damaged and/or destroyed and the good guy vehicles were barley scratched was overdone.The escape in the bullet train was not real for this country where our train system and rails to support such a fantasy don't exist.I liked the escape from prison scene and the scenes aboard the aircraft carrier. Would have like to have seen the carrier superstructure destroyed and the ship badly and completely destroyed.
One can give Ice Cube props for attitude, but not much more.
Similar to the situation with the prequel – the British Board of Film Classification insisted on cuts for the BBFC-12 rating and therefore one scene had to be altered in order to obtain this rating.
